Mariscos, Montañas, y Mantequilla

All I can is that Catalonia, Spain is very beautiful! Yesterday we climbed a mountain and at the top was a small, old church and a wonderful view of Barcelona. We took the subway to Sant Boi and then walked all the way to the top which was 3 km. The whole trip took between 4-5 hours but was a lot of fun.
After we came back home my host mother, Maria cooked up some tasty fried Calamari; the seafood here is very tasty and fresh. With dinner we also ate some very good cheese with bread; Maria bought me some butter to put on my bread because on the T.V. they see that Americans eat butter on their bread.
Today we went to the City of Barcelona which took about 30 minutes to get to. We visited the Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, and Sant Pau built by Antoni Gaudi. How appropriate because today is the architect's birthday! He died before he saw much progress because he was killed by a passing tram on the 7th of June 1926. Today, the building process of the Sagrada Familia is still in full swing and is not expected to be done for many more years. When we came home, Maria and Victor cooked up some delicious paella.
Here in Spain after we eat the biggest meal of the day around 2 a'clock(8am NY time, we take a "siesta" which means nap in Spanish(we need these in America). During siesta people usually relax by watching T.V., napping, surf the web, or read a book. I think I may go take an extended siesta now...oh how I hate Jet Lag!
