We also took some tapas!

Fonfria was quaint to say the least!

The house where I lived(Victor's dad's):

One of the village parties: Day of Comarca

We also visited a pretty town in Portugal called Miranda Do Douro. It was only a 30 minute ride by car to get to Portugal. I found the countryside to be very traditional and it was like traveling back in time. Most of the men and women in the countryside were in traditional clothing and there were plenty of cows, goats, sheep, and donkeys herded across the streets in Portugal. We also visited an art gallery that had beautiful art depicting life in the country side. Jose( Victor's father) enjoyed the art immensely because it reminded him of his childhood in Fonfria. I also stood on the border of Portugal and Spain. Wow, how the border was so heavily protected(not! thanks to the European Union, no passport was necessary.
